BMKS (Bandhon Manab Kallyan Sangstha) has worked in Gaibandha since 2018 on education, clean water, health, livelihoods, and relief for underprivileged families. The work was real. What the site needed to do was make that work visible — to a donor deciding whether to give, and to a family wondering whether help was coming.
Programmes, Explained
Education, water, health, livelihoods, and relief, each in plain language.
Languages Supported
English and Bangla, so the community BMKS serves can read its own site.
Serving Gaibandha Since
One district, worked in depth, instead of many districts worked thinly.
Ways to Get Involved
Donate, volunteer, partner, or spread the word — each with a clear next step.

Eight Programmes
Get InvolvedReal Work, Not Yet Visible
BMKS wasn't short on impact — tube-wells built, children in school, women earning their own income. What it lacked was a website that let anyone outside Gaibandha see any of it, in a language they'd actually read.
Asking Donors to Trust Without Seeing
A donor deciding between organisations had no way to compare what BMKS actually does against the polished sites of larger, better-funded NGOs.
- No Way to Show the Work: Eight programmes running in Gaibandha, and no page where a donor could actually see any of them.
- English Only: The community BMKS serves, and many of its own local supporters, read Bangla first.
- Numbers Without Names: A report full of statistics doesn’t tell a donor who Rahima Begum is, or why her story matters.
A Window Into the Work Itself
A bilingual site built around the same standard BMKS holds itself to on the ground: show the work, name the people, report on every taka.
- Every Programme, Explained: Water and sanitation, livelihoods, skills training — each one with real photos and plain language.
- Bilingual From the Ground Up: English and Bangla side by side, so the site speaks to donors and the community it serves.
- Real Stories, With Consent: Named, quoted households — Abdul Karim, Rahima Begum — so the numbers have faces behind them.
Three Steps, No Wasted Motion
Learning Gaibandha Before Designing Anything
We sat with the BMKS team and went through what eight programmes actually look like on the ground — the tube-wells, the classrooms, the tailoring workshops — before deciding how any of it should be presented online.

Three Things We Got Right
Small decisions that turn a skeptical visitor into someone who trusts where their support goes.
The Numbers Have Names
Real quotes from real households sit next to the programme data, so a donor sees who their support actually reaches.
Built for Bangla First
A full translation, not an afterthought — so the community BMKS serves can read the same site a donor abroad sees.
Four Clear Ways to Help
Donate, volunteer, partner, or spread the word — each with its own page instead of one crowded contact form.
“We've always been able to show our work in Gaibandha, one visit at a time. Now we can show it to someone who's never been near Bangladesh, in their own language or ours, and have it feel just as honest.”
